A dinner at Bel Canto? Imagine savoring exquisite cuisine while listening to the finest lyrical voices of the Marais. Yes, you read that right. Here, opera doesn’t just enchant your ears—it becomes the perfect accompaniment to your plate for a truly magical evening.

Behind the majestic façade of an Art Deco mansion, nestled in the heart of Paris along the Seine, lies Bel Canto, an extraordinary venue for your dinner. From the moment you step inside, you’re transported to another world: red velvet drapes, elegant woodwork, opera costumes, and a grand piano illuminated by a sparkling crystal chandelier. The stage is set—or rather, your table is

Picture your dinner at Bel Canto: you’re seated comfortably, a glass of champagne in hand, ready to indulge in a delectable meal. Suddenly, the lights dim. A chill runs down your spine. The soprano begins an aria by Verdi, soon joined by a tenor with a piece from Mozart. Yes, it’s your servers who are singing—and they’re not holding back. These young lyrical talents perform the great classics with such proximity and intensity that you’re left with goosebumps. And between the soaring vocals, the kitchen doesn’t skip a beat. The chef conducts the dishes with as much passion as a maestro leads an orchestra. High-quality ingredients, elegant presentations, and a dash of boldness come together to captivate your palate.

A menu to make your taste buds sing

Example of the (gustatory) program for your evening:

  • Starters: Homemade foie gras, creamy seasonal velouté, or gravlax salmon.
  • Main Courses: Tender beef fillet, delicately prepared catch of the day, or a creative vegetarian option.
  • Desserts: Chocolate fondant, thin apple tart, or a selection of aged cheeses.

Each dish is accompanied by an opera aria, performed with such emotion that it sweeps you away. As you savor a beef filet, suddenly, « La Traviata » fills the room. You finish your dessert, and the powerful notes of « Carmen » resonate. That’s the magic of Bel Canto: everything is in harmony, everything transports you.

An evening orchestrated like a perfect symphony

  • 7:30 PM: Welcome and seating in a lavishly decorated room
  • 7:45 PM: The pianist takes the stage, setting the mood.
  • 8:00 PM: The first lyrical aria, followed by a new aria every 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 11:30 PM: A dazzling finale and a final toast to an unforgettable evening.

A moment to share, savor, and live!

Whether it’s for a romantic evening, a night out with friends, or a celebration, your dinner at Bel Canto turns a meal into a true sensory experience. Here, opera isn’t confined to grand stages—it’s lived and felt, just a few steps away from you.

My personal favorite

I must admit, the first time I went to dinner at Bel Canto, I was skeptical. A lyrical dinner? I feared it might be a concept that leaned too much into a « tourist spectacle. » Well, I was wrong. From the very first note, I was swept away. The talent of the singers, the closeness of their voices, the raw emotion… it brought tears to my eyes. And when you pair that with dishes that are as elegant as they are delicious, it becomes an experience I’ll never forget.

If you’re looking for an extraordinary evening, head straight to Bel Canto! I’ll be going back as soon as possible—perhaps this time with friends or my new love, to share this marvel with them. Also, don’t forget that just a few hundred meters from here lies a global institution of lyrical art: the Opéra National Bastille, which you can explore through my article on MyMarais.Paris.
